Dan Tannas learned to fly at Ed Shenk's grass airport north of Fort Wayne, Indiana. He has been a flight instructor since 1974, and was designated FAA Pilot Examiner in 1985. His home base is Laporte, Indiana(PPO), and he also travels throughout the FAA South Bend District using N98DT, his 1947 Cessna 140.

Dan is authorized to do certification flight tests for Sport Pilot, Recreational Pilot, Private Pilot, Commercial Pilot, Instrument Rating, and all Glider ratings. He also holds authorizations to do Flight Instructor certifications, including Flight Instructor Renewal Examiner designation.
